Academic Guidance and Advising
The Accessibility Coordinators provide academic support, ongoing monitoring, and assistance with challenges that arise during studies. The frequency of support offered is tailored to individual student needs. Coordinators also mediate between students and academic/administrative staff, with full student consent and without disclosing medical information.
Tutoring and Support Mentorships
Mentorship programs are assigned based on individual student needs and unit discretion:
-
Academic Tutoring: Assists with coursework, comprehension, and exam preparation.
-
Support Mentorship: Helps students adapt to academic life, develop organizational skills, and manage time effectively.
-
Mentors are advanced, outstanding students who receive either a scholarship or academic credit (for Cornerstone courses).
Note: Some support services require a nominal annual fee.
Tutoring for Students Eligible for National Insurance (Bituach Leumi) Support
Students receiving vocational rehabilitation benefits from the National Insurance Institute (NII) can access tutoring through the Accessibility Unit, if not already doing so through an external provider. The Accessibility Coordinator assists in finding a suitable tutor among university students. Eligibility requires presenting official approval from an NII rehabilitation worker specifying the number of tutoring hours granted.
Transcription Services
Students with hearing impairments requiring transcription services should contact the Accessibility Coordinator to determine eligibility.
Exam and Learning Accommodations
Eligibility for exam and learning accommodations is determined by the Accessibility Coordinator, based on medical documentation, functional status, and consultation with the unit’s medical advisor (if necessary).
-
Accommodations follow standardized professional criteria to ensure fairness without compromising academic integrity.
-
Appeals Process:
-
Contact the Head of Accessibility Services at accsupport@savion.huji.ac.il.
-
If further appeal is needed regarding eligibility for accommodations, submit a request to the Appeals Committee within 30 days of receiving the decision.
-
Appeals must be submitted using the attached form via liatza@savion.huji.ac.il.
Campus Parking Permits
Students with an official disabled parking permit from the Ministry of Transportation are entitled to on-campus parking.
Students who do not have an official disabled parking permit but require parking due to medical conditions may submit a request to the Accessibility Coordinator, who will assess the request based on medical documentation and professional discretion.
